Coppo Wine Event
Sunday, February 10th
2pm – 4pm
(exclusive of tax and gratuity)
Lupa is honored to announce an event with Nizza DOCG’s main man, Luigi Coppo!
For over 120 years, the Coppo family has been bottling wine from their own estates under the name of Coppo, making Coppo one of the oldest family-run wineries in all of Italy.
While the winery has always been heavily steeped in tradition, they push boundaries and remain on the fore-front of modern wine making techniques. This was true in the 1800s, when Piero Coppo made the first Italian spumante with secondary bottle fermentation. It was also true in the 1980s when the family produced the first vintages of Pomorosso, proving that Barbera could be way more than a table wine. Even today Coppo proves they won’t stop, as the winery spearheads the Nizza Barbera movement, establishing a name for the new DOCG. This afternoon, we taste some of Coppo’s most esteemed wines, wines that helped put the Nizza DOCG on the map, over some light fare prepared by Chef James.
